Lindsay, NE: Tree Work at the County's North Edge

Lindsay is a village of about 280 people at the north edge of Platte County, Nebraska, 33.7 road miles and about 40 minutes from Columbus by US-81 and NE-91, near Shell Creek at about 1,680 feet. It was platted in 1886 and incorporated on March 7, 1888.

Holy Family Catholic Church on East 3rd Street is the landmark, and Lindsay Manufacturing started building center pivots here in 1955. Cottonwood, bur oak and hackberry fill the Shell Creek draws; the village has Siberian elm, silver maple and spruce, and farm windbreaks are losing pine to pine wilt. It is still Platte County, so there is no trip charge.
